Carlo Giuseppe Oddone, Turin 1912

Carlo Giuseppe Oddone 1866 – 1935

A remarkable maker whose output spanned the 19th & 20th centuries. Between 1889 & 1902 Oddone worked in the workshop of Frederick William Chanot. This violin based on a Guarneri model that was developed during his period with F.W Chanot and is a model that was favoured by him.

The attractive one piece slab cut back with ribs to match and relatively flat arching gives this violin a powerful tone that carries well.

Branded on the bottom block, internally & externally.

The violin is in excellent condition.
