Armando Barbieri, c.1925

Pupil and brother in law of Cesare Candi. This is one of a group of Genovese violins we have at the moment.

One of the main characteristics of the Genovese School is that the linings go over the corner blocks internally.
This is a boldly made violin with bold edge work and characteristic soundholes.
Flatter than normal arch gives a violin a strong powerful tone.
